who am i?

Meet your Midwife

Hannelie Roodt

I started doing homebirths in 1999 and fell in love instantly.

I have been practicing as a registered nurse and midwife with in and out of hospital for the last 24 years.

I myself have 4 children, two of which were at home births. I didn't know that there was such an option when I gave birth to my first two children.

The first time that I saw a baby being born, I immediately knew that God had set me on this path as my calling. It wasn't exactly a walk in the park working as a student midwife. I always felt that women weren't treated the way that they should be during such an incredible time in their lives. I wanted to be able to show that and treat women with dignity and respect.

Being a homebirth midwife is such a unique experience. This isn't a job for me, but my passion aligned with my calling from God.

I love the people that I meet along the way, the calmness and excitement in the process, and the privilege to uplift women, and be an instrument in God's hands to glorify His miracle.
